She pronounced "centimeter" in a way I've heard previously (usually
by surgeons, for some reason), but still, nonetheless, odd.
"The patient has a 2 sontimeter abrasion on his face."
"You mean centimeter? " I asked.
"Yes, sontimeter," she replied.
I had one more question.
"If I give you two quarters, will you have 50 cents or 50
sonts?"
She declined to answer but did laugh.
